Jim Arnoff, Certified Career Coach/TV Packaging Agent/NYWIFT Member is starting two entertainment coaching groups - one on Monday night and one on Wednesday night, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, beginning late April/early May. The group will meet everyone other week for six sessions. There will be one-on-one coaching by Jim of each participant, feedback on projects by the participants, networking and resourcing. Each participant, with the support of the group, will create specific action steps to do between the groups with accountability at the next meeting. The group will be capped at six participants. This is the second cycle; the first cycle was very powerful. This is fee-based with a 15% discount to NYWIFT members. NYWIFT member Karen Kohlhaas of the Atlantic Theater Company will offer her 12th Annual Summer Director Class June 5-Aug. 8. The 14 classes will meet most (but not all) Monday and Tuesday evenings. This is a 56+ hour class in directing designed to be as comprehensive and creatively stimulating as possible. For actors, writers, filmmakers and directors who want to learn or deepen the director's craft.  The class includes hands-on experience in: Script analysis, pre-production and research, casting, auditioning actors, table work, working effectively with actors, leadership, rehearsal technique, staging composition, staging with structure, contrast and suspense, collaborating with designers, showmanship, time management, troubleshooting. The class includes a guest series with six professionals who will give more related topics including creating and producing your own work. FULL and AUDIT participation are available. 20% discount on AUDIT tuition for NYWIFT members.
