Emily Verellen
Emily Verellen, Senior Program Officer at The Fledgling Fund since 2008, provides strategic communications and outreach support for the Creative Media Initiative. She is co-founder of The Binti Pamoja Center, a women's rights and reproductive health center in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2006, she received a grant from The Fledgling Fund to publish LightBox, a book featuring photographs, stories and autobiographies from teenage members of the The Binti Pamoja Center, with proceeds supporting the center?s scholarship fund. Verellen earned a BA in International Development, Anthropology and Communications from American University, and an MA from the London School of Economics in International Development and Population Studies.
