Floor Associate
The Brooklyn Museum
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of and interest in the Museum's collection and special exhibitions as well as our mission, history, and programming
Ability to communicate pleasantly, courteously, and effectively with the general public, especially when delivering messaging and regulating exhibition policies
Positive attitude and perseverance under pressure
Excellent customer service and communication skills, including ability to speak effectively and facilitate positive dialogue with visitors
Desire to work effectively and collegially as part of a team
Additional qualifications:
Experience in customer service, hospitality, and/or sales preferred
Coat check experience helpful
Responsibilities:
Greet visitors, providing hospitality and a positive, professional, and safe environment for all guests
Scan tickets and facilitate visitors' entrance into the special exhibition
Operate specialized ticketing software for exhibition and event sales
Provide line management and crowd control, and aid groups entering the exhibition
Assist visitors with wayfinding throughout the Museum and special exhibitions
Understand Museum policies regarding admissions, ticketing, security, coat check, and visitor services, and communicate them to the public on-site and over the phone

FLSA status: Non-exempt
Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, Mondays-Sundays, with possible additional hours during special events and First Saturdays. Weekends are required.
