Woman of Her Word Audio Description Grant
Through the Woman of Her Word Audio Description Grant, Michele Spitz will sponsor and voice the audio description production for all future NYWIFT Loreen Arbus Disability Awareness Grant recipients. This grant will allow for the films selected to be made accessible for the low vision and blind audiences.
She's most passionate about her audio description work for the visually impaired, voicing over 40 films including documentary features: Blind Boys of Alabama and Becoming Bulletproof. Commercially released films include The Beatles: Eight Days a Week, and Dealt. She also audio described The Great Muppet Caper for Disney Family TV.
Michele sponsored and voiced the audio description for select films from 2014 to 2016 for Superfest: SF International Disability Film Festival, and continued the same for ReelAbilities: NY International Disability Film Festival from 2015 to 2017.
