Scheduling and Budgeting Your Film: Two-Part Series
In this two-part series, veteran independent film producer Richard Guay will take you through the scheduling and budgeting process using Movie Magic software:
- Scheduling Workshop (Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, 6:30 pm) will include breaking down a script, using the software for scenario planning, tracking scheduling conflicts, and communicating your plans to your crew.
- Budgeting Workshop (Monday, Nov. 19, 6:30 pm) will cover creating flexible budgets that can be used for comparative analysis, the proper way to budget for labor and the best way to structure your budget to track tax incentives.
Note: You can attend one workshop without attending the other.
Richard Guay is Vice President of East Coast Marketing and Sales for Entertainment Partners, makers of EP Budgeting and Movie Magic budgeting software. He has worked in the film industry for 25 years as a producer, writer, studio executive, assistant director, production manager, post supervisor and accountant. Guay produced True Love, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, as well as Kinsey, Dogfight, Household Saints, Subway Stories and Ghost Dog, among other films.
