Physician Assistant turned Producer and Comedy Writer

Full Bio
Carolyn Pierre-Outlar is a producer and screenwriter whose foray into comedy was as unexpected as the life she's lived growing up in NYC. A rebel born to strict Haitian immigrant parents, her path to becoming a doctor (one of only 3 acceptable career choices according to them) was put on hold when she secretly joined a local R&B group in the nineties.

Five years later, she would make them sort of proud when she came a physician assistant (still not a doctor, but close). She created award-winning digital comedy series "Rhonda Mitchell M.D." a few years later. In 2020, the series was selected as a finalist in the Yes…and Laughter Lab competition sponsored by Comedy Central and is currently in development at NBC with comedian Roy Wood Jr. serving as Executive Producer.

Carolyn received her MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University and is a proud member of the WGA and NY Women in Film and Television. When she's not writing, she can be found at any karaoke bar or her local Home Depot.
