Tina Redwine was named NY1s transit reporter in April 2011, after joining NY1 as a freelance reporter in September 2010.
Prior to NY1, Redwine was a freelance reporter at News12 Connecticut for 11 years. In 2003 she won the Connecticut Press Club's award for TV Investigation of the Year after convincing a child molester facing probation to participate in an interview. The resulting story convinced the judge to imprison the molester rather than just grant him probation.
Redwine has also served as an assignment desk editor for News12 Long Island and an on-air reporter and fill-in anchor at News12 The Bronx.
Earlier in her career she produced, wrote and researched for Joan Hamburg on New York radio station WOR. She also helped produce segments on WCBS-TV as well as articles in Parade Magazine and The New York Observer.
Redwine began her career doing weekend news reports for Atlanta radio station WRAS-FM while in high school.
She earned a Masters degree from the Columbia University School of Journali
