Full Bio
Bethany Jacobson began her career as a video artist and photographer before receiving her MFA from NYU in 1995. She has worked as a writer, director and producer on numerous documentary and feature projects including Unmade Beds (BBC), The Eroticism of Success (WDR) and Let's Go Bowling. She has taught film and video production courses at Pratt Institute, Hunter College, NYU, and Long Island University. Her feature screenplay The Electric Virgin received support from the European organization Media II and was selected to attend the 2005 Berlinale Co-production Market. She directed, produced and co-shot the 30-minute documentary The Flea Theater: A Portrait about the Off-Off Broadway theater company, shooting various productions, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews of Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Andre DeShields. Adam Rapp and Roger Rosenblatt amongst others. Additionally, she produced a 90 second PSA and 35mm blowup for theatrical screenings for Variety's Power of Women spotlighting Sigourney Weaver. She is currently developing her feature project Hotel Bleu for production in 2012.
