Nicolle Márquez is a performer, producer, video-artist and filmmaker from San Juan, Puerto Rico based in Brooklyn, NY. Their body of work focuses on socially conscious content and ethnographical investigation. They hold a MA in Women’s and Gender Studies, a MA in Theater, and a BS in Journalism, Media Communications and Photography. Interdisciplinary work include performance and production work for the museum installation The Path to the Mirror by Katalina Gutierrez, and performance in the theatrical installation La Negra by Raquel Almazan staged at BRIC House. Video-art includes the montages True Abstraction, Then Hope, Tener y No Tener, among others. Recent work as a performer include lead roles in the films Sonia by Eva Depoorter, Dawn by Nona Catusano, Leda by Samuel Tressler, The Geometries of Desire by David Williams, El Extraño de la Casa Rivera by Esteban Bailey, and Aurora by Alina Rancier. Recent work as a filmmaker include the short films Nulo (2019), La Ciudad del Silencio (2020) and Ava (2022).
