Hannah Engelson is a cinematographer and documentary filmmaker who brings sensitivity and curiosity to her work. She utilizes an observational approach and improvisation while in the field or on set.
As a Director of Photography, she has filmed numerous short and feature-length films that have screened at festivals including SXSW, DOC NYC, and Hamptons International Film Festival, as well as streamed on platforms such as Netflix, Sky Documentaries, Hulu, and PBS. She has collaborated with clients including Capitol Records, Committee to Protect Journalists, The Empire State Building, UberEats, and United Airlines.
Hannah’s short documentary *Jonah Stands Up* premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival, where it won both a jury and audience award. The film was later broadcast on World Channel as part of the Reel South Series, premiered online on Short of the Week, and received a student award from the Directors Guild of America.
Hannah was a Graduate Fellow at Emerson College, earning an MFA in Media Ar
