Left Bank tells the remarkable story behind the four women who served as the cornerstones of success for Irish author James Joyce.  Banned, burned and censored, James Joyce’s controversial masterpiece Ulysses would have never been published in 1922 if not for these forward-thinking women.

Left Bank tells Joyce’s story, and at the same time, reveals the secret feminist history of Sylvia Beach’s revolutionary bookshop in Paris, through dramatic scenes, interviews, archival footage and animation.  The film will be completed for the centennial celebration of the publication of Ulysses in 2022 when fans all over the world will celebrate the universal epic and their gratitude to these four women.
