Webinar: NYWIFT Talks: Virtual Theatrical Experiences with Wendy Lidell

Welcome to NYWIFT Talks, a new weekly series to bring updated news and vital information about the impact of COVID-19 on the media and entertainment industry. Industry professionals will be in conversation discussing what you need to know about theatrical releases, digital advances, virtual tools, festival opportunities, production updates and more.

NYWIFT Talks are free for all NYWIFT members to attend.

In this NYWIFT Talk, we welcome Senior Vice President Wendy Lidell of Kino Lorber. We will discuss the growth of Kino Lorber and their initiative to develop the virtual theatrical experience during a time of uncertainty, while continuing to support art houses everywhere.

This discussion will be led by NYWIFT member Jennifer S. Wilkov

Prior to joining Kino Lorber as SVP, Theatrical and Nontheatrical Distribution and Acquisition in 2016, Wendy Lidell was President of International Film Circuit (InFC), which she founded in 1987. InFC earned a reputation for excellence, winning acclaim for its introduction into the US of filmmakers such as Raul Ruiz, Alexander Sokurov and Hou Hsiao-hsien. From 1999 to 2004, Lidell headed the theatrical division of Wellspring where she released, among others, Russian Ark, which grossed over $3 million.  In 2004, she returned to InFC and released acclaimed films including Darwin’s Nightmare and She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry. Among her recent releases at Kino Lorber are Beanpole, Synonyms and Bacurau. Lidell has run academy campaigns for four documentaries nominated for Oscars.
