Celebrating This Historic Moment: The Confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

New York Women in Film & Television celebrates the historic confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman appointed to our nation’s highest court. This is a remarkable step forward in representation for women and people of color, who deserve to have their voices heard, their views represented, and their opinions fully incorporated into our government. NYWIFT firmly believes that all voices deserve a proverbial seat at the table – be it on set, in a board room, or on the Supreme Court bench. This is one step closer to a fully diverse and inclusive Court.

Women have always been at the forefront of positive change. This is a time when so many rights we hold dear are at risk – women’s healthcare, voting access, LGBTQIA+ rights, and open-minded, inclusive, and progressive public education for our children. We are thrilled to know that someone as experienced and qualified as Justice Jackson will be weighing in on the decisions that shape our future.
