NYWIFT @ Tribeca: In Conversation with Tiffany Paulsen

The 2024 Tribeca Festival is set to premiere the eagerly anticipated romantic dramedy, Winter Spring Summer or Fall, directed by seasoned rom-com screenwriter Tiffany Paulsen. This film promises to capture hearts with its charming and relatable story. Premiere day will take place Thursday June 06 at 5:00 PM at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall follows the lives of Remy, played by Jenna Ortega, and Barnes, portrayed by Percy Hynes White. After a chance encounter, these two young individuals find themselves intertwined in an unexpected romance. As the seasons change from winter to summer, their relationship blossoms. However, with Remy’s plans to attend Harvard in the fall, the couple must confront the complexities of their future and what truly matters to them. The film is a quintessential Gen Z love story. Packed with classic romantic comedy elements, it’s a film that promises to resonate with audiences of all ages.

I had the privilege of interviewing Tiffany Paulsen, the talented director behind Winter Spring Summer or Fall. Tiffany’s career is a testament to her versatility and dedication to her craft. She began as an actress before transitioning to writing, earning accolades such as the Disney/ABC Writing Fellowship and the SONY TV Diverse Directors Fellowship.

Tiffany’s filmography includes work for major studios like Netflix, Disney, FOX, ABC, MGM, SONY, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios. Her impressive resume features the big-screen adaptation of Nancy Drew for Warner Bros., which starred a young Emma Roberts and premiered on over 3,500 screens across the U.S. She has also collaborated with top talents such as Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Sofia Carson, Emma Roberts, and Oscar winner Halle Berry.

In addition to her writing achievements, Tiffany attended the New York Film Academy to study directing. Her first short film, The Swan, won Best Picture at the Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival and received recognition at several other film festivals.

NYWIFT Member Spotlight: Kathryn O’Kane

Kathryn is the co-director and co-writer of the short comedic film Subtext, which has been accepted into the 2025 LA Shorts International Film Festival, screening July 26 at 7:45 p.m. LA Shorts is the longest-running short film festival in Los Angeles.
