Terry’s Picks: The Force Awakens, Stephanie Laing, Joy

Female force: A Fandago survey showed that Daisy Ridley’s Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakenswas the character moviegoers were most excited to see this weekend. Finally having a strong female lead in a notoriously male-driven franchise has viewers talking.

Go, Stephanie: Congrats to NYWIFT friend Stephanie Laing, Executive Producer and Director ofVeep, who will launch a new female-driven online comedy network next year. Stephanie participated in one of our Power Player Breakfasts and spoke on our Comedy Makers: Tales from the Darkside panel this year.

Christmas Joy: There will be no Picks next week, but I can tell you that I’m going to see Joy on Christmas day. I’ll report back with my thoughts on it in 2016!
