Toy Russell Van Lierop was the first woman of color to be admitted into local 798 as a makeup artist and paved the way for many minorities who followed in her footsteps. She has maintained a remarkable career in the film & television industry for over two decades. Her body of work consists of more than 30 films including ,The Nutty professor, Empire Falls, Mr & Mrs Bridge, Lean on Me, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Boomerang, I Am Legend, television's Person of interest, and the Oscar winning Precious. She has worked with such talented directors as James Ivory, Sidney Lumet, Wes Craven, Lee Daniels, Betty Thomas, Michael Bay, Frank Oz, Reginald Hudlin, and Francis Lawrence, plus entertainment luminaries that include Paul Newman, Halle Berry, Joanne Woodward, Robin Wright, Eddie Murphy, Kevin James, and Don Cheadle to name a few.
