Sophia de Baun is a filmmaker with a background in writing and gender theory. She's written, directed, produced, and edited her own work including short Sisters (2015) web series Out There (2021), and short film, Filling Holes (2023), which she also stars in. She co-wrote, produced and edited her first feature Scenes From A Breakup (2018), which can be purchased on Amazon Prime. Later, she produced, edited, and co-wrote award-winning pilot, Chiqui (2022) that screened as part of the Indie Episodic Program at Sundance '22 and collected many awards including best in writing, best actress, and best episodic and screened at festivals such as Series Fest, LALIFF, and Atlanta. Her latest producing and editing work includes a series of music videos and visualizers for the X-Ambassadors' new album Townie and pilot Born2Lose (2025). She currently teaches film studies as an adjunct at Barnard College.
