Chaconne Martin-Berkowicz is a writer and director originally from Portland, OR, now based in NYC. Her work explores desire, power dynamics, and the female gaze.
Chaconne was most recently a Staff Writer on Amazon’s CRUEL INTENTIONS, and previously Amazon’s I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.
Her short film SCOTTY’S VAG premiered at SXSW 2023, won Best Narrative Short at the Atlanta Film Festival, and was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Another short film of hers, IN SYNC, premiered at Maryland Film Festival 2021, and won the Marlyn Mason Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Chaconne is also a member of Sony Pictures' Elevate Directing Program, and AFI's DWW+ Class of 2026.
She holds a BA in Creative Writing & Film Production from Johns Hopkins University.
