Synopsis
The pilot introduces Drea’s exhausting and emotionally charged fertility journey. From the sterile clinic’s waiting room to humiliating job interviews and mounting medical bills, Drea navigates a world that seems to mock her efforts at every turn. Her husband Tristan tries to remain hopeful, but even his optimism falters under the weight of repeated failures. The couple’s bond is tested as they navigate societal expectations and personal heartbreak.
In a pivotal moment, Drea’s failed audition for a zombie commercial mirrors her internal state, reinforcing the theme of feeling “alive but dead inside.” Her journey is punctuated by small victories and moments of grace, such as a chance encounter with a baby that stirs both longing and hope. By the end of the pilot, Drea faces another devastating setback, but her enduring humor and Tristan’s reassurance lay the foundation for the couple’s next chapter.
