#39: Victoria Alonso

Victoria Alonso is the Executive Vice President of Physical Production for Marvel Studios. She is credited for executive producing many action-packed films, including The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier among others, and for co-producing Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. She began her career in the visual effects industry, working with top directors including Tim Burton, Ridley Scott and Andrew Adamson to name a few.
Since receiving the Muse Award in 2015, Alonso has gone on to receive numerous other industry awards including the Motion Picture Sound Editors Award and the Advanced Imaging Society’s Harold Lloyd Award, among others. Alonso, who is gay and is among the most prominent Latinx women in the entertainment industry, has been a leading voice for inclusiveness in Hollywood and an advocate for increased diverse representation among on-screen superheroes.

Learn more about Perla’s illustrious career as we discuss the genesis of South Bronx Spirit (featured as part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian America Art Museum in Washington D.C.) and the social injustices that attracted her to document the urban landscape of the Bronx during the late seventies.
