Sundance Success: Thanks to all who attended our two inaugural events at the Sundance Film Festival this year! Be sure to check out the photos of our favorite moments. And congratulations to our NYWIFT community members who took home Sundance Awards – Radha Blank, who won the award for Directing for her debut film The 40-Year-Old-Version (which was picked up by Netflix); Huriyyah Muhammad, producer of Ekwa Msangi’s Farewell Amor, who received this year’s Sundance Institute / Amazon Studios Producers Award for narrative feature producer; and Heidi Ewing, who received the NEXT Innovator Prize for I Carry You with Me (which was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics)!
Online Shorts: The third annual NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival is live! We are proud to highlight some of the work of our talented membership through our partnership with GoIndieTV. The shorts will also air on GoIndieTV’s Roku Channel starting later this month.
Ledbetter Film: Great news from 2017 NYWIFT Ravenal Foundation Feature Film Grant awardee Lilly. The film by Rachel Feldman about Lily Ledbetter and the Fair Pay Restoration Act has received support from Meryl Streep.
