NYWIFT Member Sarah Ceballos is hosting This is MEntal, a variety show and fundraiser to help cover the post-production costs of her new film, Hero. The film is about a woman in her early 30s that struggles with trauma and resorts to unhealthy coping mechanisms instead of focusing on her dreams. It is an inspiring and uplifting story about the willingness to preserve no matter what life can throw at you. Funds raised from the event will also benefit a mental health non-profit. The exhibit Showstoppers! is now being hosted in Times Square. This exhibition of costumes from across film, Television, and Theater, has been set up to support the Costume Industry Coalition Recovery Fund, which continues to support one of the hardest hit sectors of the entertainment industry. Women encompass over 70% of all theater costume industry personnel. The goal of this exhibit is help these artists, who were unable to work during this turbulent past year. The exhibit will feature costumes from Film and TV shows including Star Wars, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Black Panther, and more! The exhibit will return in early 2022.
