Black Public Media, along with Houston Cinema Arts Society, and Austin Film Society, will co-host the 2022 Black Media Story Summit on Climate Justice. Join them virtually or in-person at Houston’s historic DeLUXE Theatre. This dynamic summit convenes filmmakers, community organizations, thought-leaders, and other stakeholders to exchange data, information and ideas on the impact climate change is having on Black and other BIPOC communities. They will then challenge participants to formulate ideas for media projects that highlight these issues and invite conversation about potential solutions. Join Women in Film & Television US for their Monthly National Networking Night. The virtual networking event is held on the second Thursday of each month and is open to paid and active members of any WIF chapter (NYWIFT included.) The event aims to connect members looking to crew up in different areas of the country. The exhibit Showstoppers! is now being hosted in Times Square. This exhibition of costumes from across film, Television, and Theater, has been set up to support the Costume Industry Coalition Recovery Fund, which continues to support one of the hardest hit sectors of the entertainment industry. Women encompass over 70% of all theater costume industry personnel. The goal of this exhibit is help these artists, who were unable to work during this turbulent past year. The exhibit will feature costumes from Film and TV shows including Star Wars, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Black Panther, and more!
