2015 Muse honoree Patricia Clarkson

For 36 years, New York Women in Film & Television has presented the Muse Award for Outstanding Vision and Achievement to women behind and in front of the camera. This year’s honorees included actors Gabourey Sidibe, Blythe Danner and Patricia Clarkson, as well Sarah Barnett (President and General Manager, BBC America) and Victoria Alonso (Executive Vice President of Physical Production, Marvel Studios). The 10th annual Loreen Arbus Changemaker Award was presented to Lizz Winstead.

The hilarious actress and CBS Commentator Nancy Giles emceed the afternoon’s events, which took place at Grand Ballroom of the Hilton New York in midtown. The luncheon was an enormous success, thanks to the passion and support of our sponsors and member volunteers.

We live-tweeted the proceedings – you can see highlights when you search #nywiftmuse on Twitter. And be sure to check out our Flickr for photos of the red carpet arrivals, luncheon & awards ceremony, and the VIP reception & networking coffee.

The 2015 ceremony brought us new classic Muse moments: Gabourey Sidibe discussed “learning her power;” Lizz Winstead demanded justice for women’s health care; Sarah Barnett explained why women don’t always have to be nice; Patricia Clarkson paid tribute to her mentor, fellow honoree Blythe Danner; Blythe Danner warmed our hearts; and Victoria Alonso burst into song.
