Full Bio
Kelli Reilly is a filmmaker, producer, writer, and artist with a BFA in Film & Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Her work is experimental, research-driven, and rooted in how craft, process, and visual detail shape cinematic storytelling. Across film, writing, archival research, print, and image-making, she is drawn to the surfaces people use to make themselves legible: faces, costumes, homes, screens, photographs, objects, rituals, and the visual codes that shape identity.
Earlier in her career, Kelli contributed to projects including Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story, The Vow, and Student Athlete. That foundation in documentary, field production, research, and nonfiction storytelling led her to build a career as an independent producer and launch Quartermaster Creative, a studio practice centered on identity, memory, lived experience, and the craft choices that bring a story to life.
Most recently, she has produced narrative and documentary projects including Presenting: Dita Von Teese, Vivien & The Florist, Slick, and I Got You. Her writing includes the forthcoming chapter “The iPhone Face and the Evolution of Screen Makeup” in Screen Makeup: Style, Convention, Colour and Concealment from Edinburgh University Press, along with criticism and video essay work for Look Behind the Look, a New York Times Recommended series.
She is a mother and advocate for women in film, with a practice rooted in care for the traces a story leaves behind: what is kept, what is cut, what is protected, and what remains after the work is made.
