Summary: Christies goal is to get social issue films and content to an audience, online and off, and then mobilize inspired audiences to take action. With a background in using online tools and connective technologies to create social change, Christie has worked on a range of films and non-profit campaigns. Before starting Picture Motion, Christie was Head of Engagement and Social Action Campaigns at Righteous Pictures, where she worked on narrative and documentary films including Detachment, Terri, To Catch a Dollar: Mohammad Yunus Banks on America, Deaf Jam and The Last Survivor. At Participant Media, Christie led digital strategy for the social action campaigns on behalf of films such as Waiting for Superman, Food Inc, Countdown to Zero, and Casino Jack, and many others. Prior to a career in media, Christie worked on fundraising events at Human Rights Watch, and ran online campaign development for Norman Lears GOTV nonprofit, Declare Yourself. She lives in New York City with her husband and dog, Lord Voldemort.
