Full Bio
Holly M. Kaplan is a Chinese-American filmmaker born and raised in New York City. Holly was selected for NALIP/Netflix's “Narrative Short Incubator for Women of Color 2022” to write, direct, and produce SUNFLOWER GIRL. The film premiered at the Uppsala Film Festival and has screened at over 40 festivals globally. It earned a nomination at the Woodstock Film Festival and won the Prix du Public at Ciné Junior, where Benshi acquired it. She is currently developing the feature-length script of SUNFLOWER GIRL with Stowe Story Labs. Holly has assisted Co-Executive Producer/Directors on PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN (HBO Max) and late Independent Producer/Director Ben Barenholtz. She attended American University and completed a filmmaking program at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
