Two South African immigrant grandmothers a widowed atheist and a former freedom fighter have their worlds overturned in a twisted drama set in a haunted church in Syracuse, NY.

While the grandmothers and their families form the central plot of the series, each episode brings a subplot of the compelling and dramatic personal stories of immigrants coming to present day USA. These stories are set against historical events, and use the device of revealed memory to challenge the conventional narrative of these events. As each character in GIMME HOPE confronts their own past, we are compelled to confront our own memories of these past events as well.
