I started my career in filmmaking working on independent films in Seattle in the 1990s. I joined I.A.T.S.E Local 488 as a grip and worked on features and television series including DISCLOSURE, NORTHERN EXPOSURE, and others.
In 1997, I left the industry to get an MFA at the University of Iowa and after that, I taught film production at Emerson College and Ithaca College.
In 2013, I returned to work in production at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology Conservation Media Unit where I was on the team of filmmakers producing films related to the conservation of birds and their habitats.
I am the Director of Photography for the award-winning noir web series The Chanticleer. I am a Fulbright Scholar (2017) and a former delegate to the American Documentary Showcase (Poland, 2010).
In 2018, I started a production company, Wind-up Pictures LLC in Ithaca, NY.
