Carol Welter
(She/Her)
Artistic DirectorCarol Welter Productions
Carol Welter grew up in the UK, immersed in the traditions of classical theatre before crossing the Atlantic and making the United States her home in 1977. Trained from girlhood through adulthood on the English stage, she later discovered an equally powerful calling in writing. After completing Masters-level writing workshops at universities, she found her true creative playground in crafting stage plays and screenplays.
A woman who has worn more hats than the costume department of a Shakespeare festival, Carol has directed, designed sets, built characters, and conjured entire worlds with little more than imagination and a pen. Now a spirited senior, she continues to embark on new adventures through her writing—traveling across continents, galaxies, and the many landscapes of the human (and occasionally non-human) heart.
Villain or lover, magician or rogue, super-powered hero or subtle schemer—Carol slips into any role with ease, channeling each voice onto the page. Writing and directing are not simply artistic pursuits for her; they are her rocket fuel, driving her to create, explore, and reinvent. As for boredom? Carol has never met the word—and has no plans to get acquainted anytime soon
