Rebecca "Becky" Gruhl and Nico Strange Owl are producers, cultural advocates, and community leaders dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices through film, storytelling, and the arts. Together, they produce the First Peoples Festival in Estes Park, an annual celebration that brings together Indigenous filmmakers, artists, musicians, storytellers, educators, and tradition bearers to share the richness and diversity of Native cultures.

Nico Strange Owl is the owner of a Native Trading Post in Allenspark, Colorado, that has served the community for more than 100 years. The trading post supports Native artists by featuring authentic Indigenous artwork and craftsmanship while helping preserve and promote Native cultural traditions.

Through their collaborative work, Becky and Nico create meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange, education, and community engagement while fostering greater understanding and appreciation of Indigenous perspectives. The First Peoples Festival is currently funded by the Town of Estes Park and other generous sponsors, reflecting strong community support for its mission.
