Full Bio
Megan Blackburn is a visual journalist specializing in cultural and culinary stories. Her primary goal in every effort is to create connection believing firmly that a more connected world is a kinder one. Her award-winning video work can be seen on Vice, Netflix, Travel Channel, Lonely Planet, Discovery, CNN, Travel+Leisure, and more.

Long before she earned her MFA in Documentary Film from SVA, Megan fell in love with the power of storytelling. Growing up in the deep south she worked in her father’s civil rights law firm where she witnessed the vital necessity of a well told story.

Megan’s greatest gift is her ability to slow down and offer her genuine presence to whomever she is with. Her openness and intentionality create an atmosphere of warmth and trust that permeates any environment. She is a highly-collaborative auteur who is passionate about unearthing untold perspectives, innovative storytelling methods, & creating meaningful audience connections.

Otherwise she smiles often and doesn't like to talk about herself too much. When not in New York, she can be found roaming coastal Georgia or the various corners of the world—always in search of her next snack.
