Dorothea B Tachler

Full Bio
Born in Germany as a Korean/German/Croatian, it made sense for singer and multi-instrumentalist Dorothea Tachler to move to NYC 2006.

With a solid classical musical education and lots of band experience (Alles wie gross, schneck, mice parade, igloo, the Swirlies), she quickly started playing with the local scene, as well as doing her very own songs. A first CD under the moniker My Favourite Things was released 2009 by Japanese label/magazine Afterhours, titled rarara . The second album Tomorrow s Far Away followed in 2013 and the third one Fly I will, because I can in 2017.

Simultaneously to starting off with My Favourite Things, Dorothea started composing film music: the British film maker Ricky Shane Reid placed her songs in his debut feature film At the Foot of a Tree (2008), and asked her to do the film score. After that, she scored Herpes Boy (2009), produced in L.A. with Octavia Spencer, Ahna O Reilly and Beth Grant. For New York s film maker Stefanie Sparks she scored the short Bleed (2010)
