Documentary filmmaker
Khatia Maglakelidze is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and composer. She is a Georgian-born, New York-based audio-visual artist. Georgian folklore and biodiversity inspire her art work.

Full Bio
Khatia Maglakelidze was born in Kutaisi, Georgia, in 1991. She graduated from Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University, faculty of film studies. Her short documentary "Migrating Textile” has been selected in different festivals around the world and has won a prize for Best Cinematography and Best First-Time Director.

Khatia worked as an assistant director for the films “Tuta” by Sandro Suladze (which has been selected for many international film festivals) and "The Watchers” (selected by Berlinale Talents 2017).

Khatia is a member of the music group Four Lines. The group has a history of live performances and professional recording sessions. The group owns the original music album ,,Sound of Wind” and the film soundtracks ,, Apollo Javakheti”, ,,the Watchers”.

Khatia Maglakelidze was a jury member of the Tbilisi International Student Film Festival in 2013 and Sarajevo Fashion Film Festival in 2023.
