Full Bio
Maria Scarvalone is an award-winning, multi-platform producer reporter working in television, radio and print with over twenty years' experience.

Over the years she has produced news, news magazine or documentary reports for CNN, ARD German TV, Eurovision, ARTE, ZDF German TV, Norwegian TV, Swedish TV, Dutch TV, Danish TV, Globo TV of Brazil, CBC Radio, WNYC and The Washington Post, among others.

As a reporter, she's equally nimble interviewing the man on the street as she is interviewing celebrities. She's not only drawn out Allen Ginsberg on his love life and Michael Douglas on his latest film -- she's also discussed peacekeeping strategy with United Nations' Secretary General Kofi Annan, and fracking with upstate farmers.

Her work has taken her (sometimes within the same month) from Sing Sing prison to the United Nations, from homeless shelters to the Indonesian presidential palace, and from the American Heartland to Bosnia (during the war), Australia, Canada, Russia, New Zealand and Indonesia.

Maria has both her Bachelor's and her Master's degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and received a Fulbright grant to study in Rome, Italy. Following a love of all things international, she's traveled to more than 25 countries and is fluent in Italian, proficient in German, and has a written knowledge of French, Spanish and Portuguese.
