Full Bio
Esther Casas Roura is a multi-award-winning film director, producer, and editor known for character-driven, metaphorical storytelling. Originally trained as a cancer research scientist in Barcelona, she transitioned into filmmaking after moving to New York. Her third animated short film, FLOCKY (2024), follows two previous award-winning shorts and has screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals and was selected for the prestigious Goya Awards. She is currently developing the animated short The Melody Within, centered on mental health and healing through music, and her first animated feature film, TAO, which merges science with epic storytelling.
