Neha Belvalkar has been engaged in making films both fiction and documentary since 2006. She has worked as an assistant director on various independent films in Mumbai, India like, Dev Benegal’s Road, Movie (2009) and Nandita Das’s Firaaq (2008). She has also worked with community video initiatives like Video Volunteers, (Goa, India) that aim at empowering marginalized communities by giving them the skills and resources to make films on their own issues. She moved to the U.S. to pursue a MFA in filmmaking and after graduating from Ohio University in 2014, she currently resides in NYC.
She has currently been working as a creative producer for the last 7 years, and produced over 30 short nonfiction films with clients ranging from Twilio, UC San Francisco, Anita Borg Institute, Autodesk, Cisco, TriNet focusing on stories of the impact these organizations have on the community and world at large, with the different products and services they offer.
