Casting Assistant and/or Casting Associate

Caparelliotis Casting seeks an experienced, full-time casting assistant and/or casting associate to join our theatrical team. (Note, this is a separate position from the Casting Assistant for the NBC one-hour drama we are also seeking.) We are looking for the right person to come on board, and are open to designing the position around a particular candidate's level of experience and strengths. Casting associate candidates should have vast experience in all of the expected, attendant assistant duties: strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate confidently over phone and email with high profile artists, producers and representatives, expediency in scheduling/confirming appointments and setting up auditions sessions from soup to nuts, etc. Most importantly, associate candidates should have solid experience in creating comprehensive but focused casting lists for roles in plays, replete with out of the box, exciting and inclusive ideas reflective of the times. Ability to talk confidently about actor's suitability and skillsets in context to a given particular project is also key. Experience running audition sessions solo and in conjunction with CD, as well as experience casting readings and workshops without supervision are a plus. Those with not-for-profit theatre experience also encouraged to apply. Casting assistant should have previous theatrical casting assistant experience, commercially, regionally or in the not for profit arena.
