Jr. Editor

LIT Videobooks

LIT Videobooks (www.litvideobooks.com) creates video versions of best-selling nonfiction books. We are ramping up production and are looking for a talented Jr. Editor to join our team, initially part-time.

The successful candidate will initially be responsible for creating string-outs of scripts written by the director, using as elements interviews with authors and secondary characters, laying in scratch VO, and finding and adding archival footage where appropriate. The initial project is for a single book and will be for a two-week period.

If the first book goes well, the successful candidate would then be brought on to edit for a three-month period to edit across multiple books.

This is the perfect position for someone who -- while potentially lacking in experience -- is talented, hard-working, and motivated by working on interesting content. Since animation is one of the core elements we rely on, some experience in After Effects and Photoshop is a plus, though not a requirement. These books rely heavily on documentary and narrative storytelling techniques, so someone with experience in those spaces would also be a plus.

If interested, please email your resume, a brief cover letter, weekly rate, your availability for the initial two-week project (this would begin around June 1st), and your availability thereafter to danicah@litvideobooks.com.
