About the Role
Geva Theatre seeks a collaborative, organized arts administrator and theatre educator to join our Connectivity team. This full-time position supports both the administrative infrastructure and on-the-ground execution of programs serving schools and community partners across Greater Rochester.
Working in close collaboration with the Director of Connectivity, Education Coordinator, and teaching artists, the Connectivity Assistant helps bring theatre education and engagement opportunities to our surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support
- Assist in planning and executing education and engagement programs
- Coordinate with schools and community partners
- Support education and engagement workshops and events including teaching artist residencies, student matinees, K-12 programs, Essie Calhoun Diversity in the Arts Award, and more.
- Assist in administrative support for setting up Geva’s Summer Academy program
- Manage Geva’s Talkback Series
Community Engagement
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact for partners and stakeholders
- Help cultivate long-term relationships
- Represent Geva in community settings
Administration
- Support scheduling, communication, data tracking, documentation, and invoicing
- Assist with curriculum materials and evaluation tools
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) effectively
- Work occasional evenings/weekends
Who You Are
- Passionate about theatre education and community engagement
- Skilled communicator who connects across ages and backgrounds
- Organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative
- Committed to equity, access, and inclusive arts education
Preferred Experience
- Teaching or facilitating theatre programs (K–12 or community-based)
- Background in performance, directing, devising, or theatre education
- Experience with curriculum development and youth-centered artistic processes
