A filmmaker falls for a man who believes John Lennon speaks to him directly — bringing him songs, words, and a presence that feels as real to him as anything in waking life. Drawn in by the man and unsettled by his own half-belief, the filmmaker begins following the thread.

It leads them to Declan, a man who doesn't just hear Lennon — he believes he is him. And then, stranger still, to two deeply religious conservatives who receive songs they say come directly from John Lennon, songs they sing with total conviction, never pausing to wonder at the contradiction between the messenger and the message.

Together they talk to fans, friends, and anyone trying to make sense of why this particular man — killed in 1980, rebellious, radical, irreverent — keeps arriving unbidden in people's lives. Why his ideas about love, peace, and truth feel less like history and more like something the world is still not ready for.

 “Coming Together” (working title) is a documentary about a legend, but it is really about the rest of us — and what it says about humanity that we keep reaching back for the same voice, again and again, because it keeps telling us the truth. Forty years gone. The message is still coming.
