Who should consider applying to become a screener?
- Film aficionados who enjoy watching wonderful films, have some extra free time, and are interested in becoming acquainted with new filmmakers, many of whom are local to New York City and Brooklyn specifically.
- Filmmakers and others who work in the film and television industry and are interested in networking with other likeminded individuals whether it's at our in-person events or on social media.
- Aspiring programmers! If you think you might be interested in becoming a film festival programmer joining a screening committee is a wonderful way to sharpen your programming process as you assess submissions and share your feedback with the programmers and other screeners.
Is there a reward for screening committee members?
Absolutely! Screening committee members who screen a minimum of twenty hours of film by Friday, July 24th will receive one complimentary all-festival pass to the festival in October + Discount code to share with your network.
Bonus Option: Screening committee members who are feeling adventurous and screen forty-plus hours of film by Friday, July 24th will receive a second all-festival pass so they can invite a friend!
How are submissions screened?
Screeners will access the films they are assigned and submit their evaluations through FilmFreeway.
