JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Office Evening Assistant


DEPARTMENT: BFA Film 

SCOPE OF POSITION: Production Office Evening Supervisor (Directly) Production Office Manager (Directly) Director of Operations


WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm - 10:30pm 

Friday 12:00pm - 8:00pm 

Occasional Saturday for Department events


POSITION OVERVIEW: Supports the daily afternoon and evening operations of the production office by ensuring all equipment is in working order and properly inventoried. Assists the Evening Supervisor in all evening operations as necessary. Includes heavy lifting of equipment.




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist the Evening Supervisor preparing equipment orders for students and class productions
  • Assures all evening classes, faculty, and students needs are met Assures proper tracking of equipment inventory
  • Assist evening manager in overseeing student workers
  • Assist in training student workers and new full time staff members
  • Proposes equipment purchases budgets for annual budget proposal
  • Assists Evening Supervisor in assuring morning class equipment orders are prepped
  • Assists at the Production Office front window
  • Assists Evening Supervisor securing facilities and closing the office. Assists in Department events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working with film and digital equipment
  • Knowledge of Mac/PC: Filemaker, Microsoft Word and Excel software. Ability to research and adapt to new technologies
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as a team member.
  • Diplomacy
