The Ethical Media Production Alliance (EMPA) aims to provide impact-focused brands and non-profit organizations with access to subsidized content production for web, TV, and social. These initiatives will provide strategy, talent, and resources to drive visibility towards environmental, humanitarian, and social causes. Simultaneously, our efforts will drive mentorship and paid work opportunities for the creative labor force by establishing relationships with brands and commercial filmmakers who are committed to the ethical use of AI in multimedia production and advertising. We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors and help guide our mission, strategy, and growth.

Role of the Board

Seeking multiple board members who'd be responsible for:

• Providing governance and oversight of the organization.
• Supporting fundraising efforts and serving as ambassadors for the mission.
• Offering strategic guidance to leadership and staff.
• Ensuring legal, ethical, and financial accountability.

Board Member Responsibilities

• Attend regular board meetings
• Participate in at least one committee or project.
• Actively contribute skills, expertise, and networks.
• Support fundraising by making a personally meaningful annual contribution and/or helping secure resources.
• Advocate for the EMPA in your community and professional circles.

Qualifications

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about our mission. Skills and experiences that are especially valuable include:

• Production experience in either entertainment, journalism, or advertising
• Nonprofit leadership, governance, or fundraising experience.
• Strong network connections to help expand our reach.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Time Commitment

Approximately 8-10 hours per month, including meetings, preparation, and committee work.
