Job Purpose

The Summer Intern will provide essential support to the Corporate Communications team during a high-volume period as the business prepares for major fall content launches and high-visibility executive initiatives.

In this role, the intern will assist with key operational activities including reporting, research, media pitching, and media monitoring. By supporting these core functions, the intern will enable the team to focus on strategic communications priorities while gaining hands-on experience in corporate communications, brand storytelling, and media relations within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Support corporate communications initiatives for BritBox, BBC Select, and additional direct-to-consumer (DTC) needs

Track, compile, and maintain weekly performance and media reporting for BritBox, BBC Select, and BBC Studios

Maintain accurate and up-to-date media lists, overseeing updates to internal media resources and the media site

Conduct research on press contacts and implement outreach strategies that elevate corporate and brand storytelling, including thought leadership opportunities

Draft press materials such as press releases, executive quotes, and briefing documents

Assist in preparation for speaking engagements and thought leadership moments

Support the development and maintenance of messaging for BritBox and BBC Select/DTC by collaborating with internal stakeholders to incorporate current metrics, achievements, and key examples

Provide additional support across research projects, communications initiatives, and special assignments as needed

Knowledge and Experience:

Interest in communications, journalism, marketing, or related media industries

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment

Proactive in research and comfortable working collaboratively across teams

Basic understanding of media relations and corporate storytelling a plus

Salary Range: $17/hour base salary

Please note that the salary range is intended to give as an indicator of the salaries that could be attributed to the breadth or experience for a given role. All candidates will be measured based on their level of experience.
