Media Education Coordinator

The Media Education Coordinator assists with all aspects of MNN’s professional education program, including  planning, scheduling, assisting students and instructors in their use of MNN’s Media Education facilities, teaching classes, and developing digital marketing and promotional content for MNN’s Media Education programs. This position reports to the Manager of Media Education. The position includes evening and weekend hours.


Duties include:

•    Assist the Manager of Education in developing curriculum and creating course materials for professional media classes

•    Responsible for preparing, updating, and evaluating media education resources and materials for instructors and students

•    Registration, placement and tracking of community members into MNN media education classes

•    Assist in the assessment of education programs

•    Maintain and manage all professional education-related equipment

•    Provide technical and creative consultation to students and community producers

•    Support part time media education staff and instructors

•    Teach a wide variety of media education bootcamps, courses and workshops on site and for our online learning programs

•    Keeping participant attendance updated on the MNN database

•    Assist in oversight of student interns

•    Assist in curating, planning and executing professional education related workshops, panels and events

•    Facilitate MNN Info Sessions

•    Produce, shoot, and edit a variety of video material for MNN Media Education as assigned

•    Record and edit media education special events, workshops, and panels videos

•    Coordinate with MNN’s Marketing Department on digital and television marketing for education program

•    Develop original and curated content for social media platforms including but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube

•    Support other education initiatives, as needed

•    Other duties as assigned




Other Job Requirements:

•    Strong interest in independent media production and education

•    Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently, collectively, and collaboratively with minimal supervision

•    Video production and editing for social media and television promos

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills

•    Excellent problem solving skills, capacity to troubleshoot, and make recommendations

•    Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse public

•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


Required Education and Experience:

•    Bachelor's degree in media, video, communications, journalism or equivalent experience

•    3 + years experience in media field

•    Demonstrated skills in a variety of media production roles

•    Demonstrated knowledge of new media technology skills

•    Demonstrated skills in video editing and motion graphics

•    Advanced experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects)

•    Knowledgeable in DaVinci Resolve

•    Knowledgeable in Apple Pages, Numbers, and Keynote

•    Knowledgeable in Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Sites, etc.)

•    Certifications in Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve preferred

•    Experience in teaching and curriculum development a plus

•    Experience in TV Studio production a plus

•    Experience with VR, XR, or AR production a plus

•    Experience with Unreal Engine Editor a plus

•    Experience with Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, or other popular 3D programs a plus

•    Bilingual Spanish a plus
