When a traumatic brain injury alters the course of an extraordinarily imaginative filmmaker’s life, she embarks on a hilarious and heartfelt journey through homelessness, healing, and missed opportunities while searching for a way to bring her gifts into the world. Along the way, she encounters Fred, a shape-shifting fly with terrible timing, and a colorful parade of unforgettable characters who become unexpected spiritual teachers. God’s Giggle is a story of resilience, wonder, and discovering that while trauma may interrupt a life, it cannot destroy the creative spirit.

Face to Face with God’s Giggle follows filmmaker and performer Shoshanna Gleich’s thirty-year healing and creative journey as she brings God’s Giggle to the stage. Blending archival footage, new filming, behind-the-scenes moments, award-winning films, original music, and vérité storytelling, the documentary traces the path from a life interrupted to a life reimagined, revealing the extraordinary persistence of the creative spirit.
Shoshanna Gleich
Shoshanna Gleich is an award-winning filmmaker, theater maker, music artist, and performer whose work blends surreal autobiographical storytelling, bittersweet comedy, roller dance, music, and emotional truth.
At seventeen, she created No Thank You, I’ll Twist Some More, one of the earliest music videos produced before MTV. The film screened internationally in clubs, aired on New York Hot Tracks on WABC-TV in New York and Los Angeles, and was shown to the U.S. Navy to cheer the troops up.
Shoshanna graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where her thesis film, Dinner at JoJo’s, which she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in, received multiple awards at First Run ’89: The 47th Annual NYU Student Film Festival.
A traumatic brain injury altered the course of her promising early career, but never diminished her creativity. Over the next three decades, she continued writing, making films, composing music, roller dancing, creating original theatrical works, and searching for a path back to sharing her gifts with the world.
In 2024, Shoshanna performed two roles in EPIC Players’ neurodiverse mainstage production of Spring Awakening, played the lead role of Rhoda in Emma Goldman-Sherman’s Winners at The Tank, released her pop/dance single “Clean Your Dirty Laundry,” and starred Off-Broadway in EPIC Players Inc. production of Seussical as the company’s first Cat in the Hat on roller skates.
She is currently developing God’s Giggle and its companion documentary, Face to Face with God’s Giggle, while continuing to create music under the name Super Fire Woman.
