Kaufman Astoria Studios (KAS) has established itself as one of the largest and most sophisticated production centers in New York and on the East Coast. Built in 1920, it was the original home of Paramount Pictures, and over 100 silent films were made on its stages. Today, with over 500,000 square feet of sound stages, production office and service space and the only outdoor stage facility in New York, top films, television series, and digital on-demand series are made at the studio. Recent television and on-demand productions include the Netflix hit Orange is the New Black, NBC’s Shades of Blue, NBC’s Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris and Sesame Street, which has filmed at Kaufman Astoria Studios since 1992. Recent feature film productions include Birdman, How to Be Single, Deliver Us From Evil, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Men in Black 3, and The Bourne Legacy.

Silvercup Studios is the largest independent, full-service film and television production facility in the northeastern U.S. The complex comprises a total of 17 shooting spaces on its Main Lot located at 42-22 22nd Street in Long Island City. Silvercup is has been home to HBO’s Sex and the City and The Sopranos and has hosted QVC’s home shopping channel, Q2, which broadcasts live, 18 hours- per-day. Over 400 commercials are produced at the facility each year including national campaigns for Wendy’s, Red Lobster, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secret, and MCI. Among the feature films which have been shot at Silvercup are: Godfather III; When Harry Met Sally; Romancing the Stone; Broadway Danny Rose; Working Girl; Sabrina; Great Expectations; Private Parts; Big Daddy.
