NYWIFT Virtual Hangout with the WGAE Audio Alliance

Gather together online with your NYWIFT colleagues at our September 2022 virtual speed networking mixer. We will be joined by our friends from the Writers Guild of America Audio Alliance!

Come ready to share creative ideas, suggestions, and contact info for further engagement.

We will begin the evening with a ten-minute salon conversation to discuss the Audio Alliance’s latest opportunities and initiatives, followed by about 90 minutes of speed networking, during which you will be randomly paired off with other attendees to network one-on-one.

This is a great opportunity for NYWIFT members looking to learn more and connect with writers working in the podcasting space! And for WGAE Audio Alliance members to connect with the wider TV/Film community, including producers, directors, actors, composers, and more.

NYWIFT will also offer a discount on membership to any new members who attend that evening.

NYWIFT hangouts are a safe space to ask entertainment related questions, seek advice, employment and other industry opportunities. Prep your elevator pitch and get ready to make connections! As always, all members are welcome and encouraged to attend and mix, mingle and get to know our dynamic and talented members and staff in an informal setting.

About the WGAE Audio Alliance

The WGAE Audio Alliance is a union of podcasters committed to raising pay and benefit standards in the scripted audio industry. Both WGA members and non-WGA creators make up our group – the Audio Alliance is open to all!

While podcasting has a long and rich history of independent work, the continued introduction of large companies into the space has made the exploitation of creatives endemic to the scripted audio industry. Our ultimate goal is to cover and protect audio projects funded by large corporations and companies under the podcast side letter agreement to the Guild’s national Minimum Basic Agreement (MBA). You don’t pay to be part of the Audio Alliance, but the Audio Alliance will help you secure the pay you deserve.
