A HISTORY OF SITTING IN WAITING ROOMS

A History of Sitting in Waiting Rooms is the coming of age story you never knew you wanted. Meet Lorena: a rambunctious six-year-old with six cavities. One for each of the letters in her name no one can pronounce. Lorena is a butch Latina fighting to find herself in the cacophony of Queens, NY in the 90s. With the help of her imaginary best friend, Boo, a Civil War ghost, Lorena will poorly navigate the drawn-out pains of puberty and the grief of adulthood.

When an interabled queer couple spends the night together for the first time, they must confront their complex relationships with desire, sexuality, bodily autonomy, and what it means truly to love another person.

Amidst a heart-wrenching night out in NYC, two Asian girls, Lucy and Vanessa, unexpectedly discover love in each other’s arms. Lucy envisions a film that tells their story, and in secret, she resolves to turn that dream into reality.

Two hard-working moms are struggling to make a better life for themselves and their toddler, but their luck turns around when their baby gives them an unexpected gift.

Two cousins born in separate countries reunite in Brooklyn when a run-in with an ex turns the night even more chaotic.

In this surrealist black comedy, a woman’s curiosity in her ex-crush’s new girlfriend complicates after their cosmic meet cute at a Brooklyn rooftop party.

 

ROMANCE PACKAGE FOR TWO
Dir. Carlen May-Mann, USA, 2022, 14 min
The monotonous life of Cleo and Judy, a queer couple who run a kitschy love motel, is thrown into disarray when Cleo falls for a visiting dominatrix.
