Looking for a certain skill set to help complete your project? Willing to offer your skills to support a fellow creative? Join The Gotham’s Owning It program in partnership with NYWIFT and WIF LA for a community skill share.

During this event, you’ll barter and exchange skills, learn best practices for bartering skills, and spend time networking with attendees. To attend, please fill out this pre-event survey about the skills you can offer and the skills you’re requesting from the community. You must also acknowledge the Code of Conduct to participate.

  • 6:00 PM ET – Introductions by The Gotham, NYWIFT and WIF teams
  • 6:05 PM ET – Overview of skill share process and bartering skills led by Kia Brooks, Deputy Director of The Gotham
  • 6:15 PM ET – Networking begins (four rounds of small group speed networking)
  • 7:00 PM ET – Discussion around skill share and networking experience
  • 7:30 PM ET – Event end

 

About The Gotham’s Owning It

This event is part of The Gotham’s Owning It program. Owning It is dedicated to supporting, connecting, and empowering women and non-binary creators and entrepreneurs who break down boundaries in the media and entertainment industry.

The program consists of monthly fireside chats, an annual summit, a mentorship initiative with WE NYC, workshops, and more. Past guests include Riva Marker (Nine Stories Productions) Lydia Dean Pilcher (Cutie and the Boxer), Veena Sud (The Stranger), and Gayle Jennings-O’Byrne (WOC Star Fund).

Owning It provides an inclusive environment that expands and expresses a liberated movement for women and non-binary individuals as well as those that are our champions, advocates, and allies.
